Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 July 2026

SK Homes NZ Limited (“SK Homes NZ Limited”, “we”, “us”, “our”) provides the AssessMate app for property inspection and assessment purposes. This policy explains what information AssessMate collects, how it’s used, where it’s stored, and the choices and rights you have.

This policy applies to the AssessMate app and to inspection data created by our team using it.

Information We Collect

Account information. If you create an AssessMate account, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored securely by our authentication provider — we never see or store your password in plain text).

Inspection data. To provide the inspection and assessment service, AssessMate stores the information our inspectors enter while carrying out a job, which may include:

Automatically collected information. Basic technical information needed to operate the app securely (such as sign-in timestamps) may be logged by our backend provider.

We do not collect information for advertising purposes, and AssessMate does not contain third-party advertising or tracking.

How We Use This Information

We use the information above to:

Where Data Is Stored and How It’s Protected

Inspection data and photographs are stored using Supabase, a cloud infrastructure provider, hosted in Sydney, Australia. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Access to inspection data is restricted so that only authenticated members of your organization can view or edit it — this is enforced at the database level, not only in the app.

Supabase acts as our data processor: it stores data on our behalf and does not use it for its own purposes.

AI-Assisted Features

AssessMate includes optional AI-assisted features that help our inspectors prepare and quality-check assessment reports (for example, drafting a Healthy Homes assessment from site notes, or reviewing a pre-purchase report for completeness before it is finalised).

When an inspector uses one of these features, the relevant inspection data — property details, assessment notes and findings, and inspection photographs — is sent securely (encrypted in transit) to Anthropic, an AI service provider based in the United States, to generate the draft content or review suggestions. Anthropic processes this data on our behalf solely to provide the feature, and under the service terms we use, does not use it to train its AI models.

All AI-generated content is a suggestion only. Every report is reviewed, completed, and signed by a qualified inspector, who remains solely responsible for its content. AI-assisted features are used at the inspector’s discretion and are not applied automatically to your data.

Who We Share Information With

We do not sell or share inspection data or personal information with third parties for their own marketing or advertising purposes. We may share information:

Data Retention

We retain inspection data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to meet our professional and legal record-keeping obligations. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see below).

Your Rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020 (New Zealand), you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and to request that it be corrected. You can also request that your account and associated personal data be deleted.

To exercise these rights, contact us at info@skhomes.co.nz.

Account Deletion

If you have created an AssessMate account, you can delete it at any time:

Deleting your account permanently removes your profile and access to inspection data associated with it. Inspection records tied to an active client engagement or a professional record-keeping obligation may be retained by our organization as required by law, even after your personal account is deleted, but will no longer be linked to your personal account credentials.

Children’s Privacy

AssessMate is a professional tool for building and property inspectors. It is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect information from, children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example as the app’s features change. We’ll update the “Last updated” date above when we do. Material changes will be highlighted in the app.
